Oriol Perucho is one of the key references of the musical avant-gardes that started in our house in the 70s. But Perucho’s contribution is not limited to his role as a pioneer of these avant-gardes, but until his death he was committed to innovation and experimentation.
Since in 1970 he created the legendary Perucho’s band, which, together with Baf, introduced Free Jazz to our country, he never stopped playing the drums, composing and improvising, always rejecting the easy paths and looking for new ones to explore. He went through several bands, some cult for the most avant-garde music scene, such as Tropopausa, Koniec, Moisés, Moisés, La Bel Canto Orchestra de Pascal Comelade, Les Anciens, Cebos Enrique, Mil Pesetas, etc. He also recorded three solo albums: “Insultó, le multaron y dejó de comer” (1992) “Zaping CD” (1994) and “Así pasan 45 minutos” (1998) in which he collaborated with a great number of musician friends and where he embodied his most personal universe.
This Martí Sans documentary reviews his life and artistic career through unpublished pieces of concerts and rehearsals and interviews with the musicians who played with him: Martí Soler, Oriol Pons de Vall “Ginger”, Jaume Martin, Enric Cervera, Ramon Solé, Eduard Altaba, Xavier Maristany, Pepino Pascual, Gat, Roger Fortea, Roger Aixut and Laia Torrents and blogger Jack Torrance.
